Our workforce

Naomi has been working in CAMHS for 27 years and during this time has worked a number of roles including inpatient CAMHS, community CAMHS and non-medical prescribing.

CAMHS Worker

Naomi trained as a mental health nurse with the intention of working with children and young people. The training Naomi received thoroughly prepared her for her role in CAMHS, "I had a fantastic mentor who worked in CAMHS and I managed to get a range of CAMHS placements whilst I was training."

The first role that Naomi took up was actually in adult drug and alcohol detox and rehabilitation, however "as soon as a CAMHS inpatient job came up I applied and I have been in CAMHS for 27 years!".

Naomi is currently working as a Consultant Nurse and professional lead for the Hampshire CAMHS Nursing workforce but has enjoyed a variety of roles within her time in CAMHS. "I have had a range of CAMHS roles which have included inpatient CAMHS, Youth Offending Team work, community CAMHS, Non-Medical prescribing, operational management and clinical leadership. I am a proud nurse and clinician at heart."

There is so much that Naomi loves about in CAMHS but "mainly I love working with young people and families and helping to influence change; I really enjoy supporting staff at all levels and also working with some inspirational colleagues across the multi-disciplinary service."
